The Youth Voice Census is an annual survey run by Youth Employment UK. It acts as a temperature check of how young people aged 11–30 feel, and gives young people the chance to share how they feel about a number of issues related to education, employment, training, work, and where they live.
Skills Builder Partnership is proudly partnered with Youth Employment UK and is doing its part to support the Youth Voice Census and signal boost on its networks - it recognises the importance of hearing from the widest cohort of young people to get a detailed picture and ensure services really work for young people in the UK. When their insights are heard, it enables us all to do better.
To date, nearly 10,000 young people have taken part in the Youth Voice Census.
Each year, the findings form evidence for APPG for Youth Employment reports and inquiries presented to the Government. It is proactive research like this which helps to inform policy relating to youth employment and ensure it meets young people's needs.
The Partnership welcomes all young people in its networks to take part in the Youth Voice Census, and invites you to spread the word. The deadline for submissions is May 31.
About Youth Employment UK
Youth Employment UK is an independent, not-for-profit social enterprise founded in 2012 to tackle youth unemployment. They believe that a shortage of skills, little work experience, a lack of confidence in the future and limited understanding of which careers exist has created a disconnect between young people and employers.
A few ways that Youth Employment UK are tackling youth unemployment are:
1) Giving young people a voice on the youth unemployment issues that affect them.
2) Supporting young people with the skills and careers support they need to progress.
3) Supporting employers to develop and be recognised for their youth-friendly employment practice.
4) Connecting young people to youth-friendly employers.
5) Providing expert insight across all youth employment policy areas.
