Hello! As the weather turns colder here in the UK, we've been doubling down on our work to build essential skills with all our partners.
In the time since the start of the academic year we've been working with schools and colleges to set goals for their programmes, as well as organising trips to new employer partners and helping other organisations build our approach to essential skills into their work with young people.
We're excited about our Ten Years Celebration Event which is coming up at the end of this month. Find out more and RSVP below, if you haven't already. We look forward to seeing many of you there!

Over the last two months, senior leadership from schools and colleges across the Partnership have been meeting with our experienced team of teachers for Goal Planning meetings. In these sessions, we've developed plans to integrate the six Principles of the Skills Builder approach into the curriculum - taking into account overarching school and college priorities, as well as existing provision for teaching skills. Over the rest of the academic year, we'll continue to support our schools and colleges to achieve these goals, meeting again in the middle and end of the year to review progress. These sessions are central to our approach to building students' essential skills and are a pivotal part of our membership programme.

We're delighted to announce two new features on the Skills Builder Hub:
- History: Keep track of which resources you've used with each group and easily come back to them later. Admins can see resource histories for all their users.
- Snapshots: View and export your assessment data from any point in the past, allowing you to record skill progress and view impact over time. Admins can export data at an organisational level too.
The Skills Builder Hub contains a huge range of resources for building skills at all ages, and has group-level formative assessment weaved throughout.

We've worked with local schools to organise inspiring trips to our new employer partners: Cisco, a worldwide leader in IT, networking and cybersecurity solutions; and Perkins, one of the world's leading engine manufacturers. These are fantastic opportunities for children and young people to build essential skills in a real-life context while collaborating with employer volunteers - as well as get a taste of the world of work.

Potential Plus UK have been using the Skills Builder Framework to audit their activities during their Big Family Weekend. Learners participated in activities, reflected on progress and collected stickers for their skills passport. Parents attended a Skills Builder workshop on supporting the development of the eight essential skills and bringing them to life. Meanwhile, Children’s University's annual conference marked the launch of a new digital platform which has integrated the Skills Builder Framework: the digital Passports to Learning help students identify progress in the essential skills and seek opportunities to further their development.
