Claylab Mentorship Programme is a volunteering opportunity where volunteers (mentors) support a student (mentee) by giving a time commitment of just 1 hour per week for 3 months.

These sessions are conducted via phone calls or any virtual platform that is suitable. The Mentors use the Claylab Curriculum to make these conversations meaningful. The curriculum focuses on topics like self-awareness, career readiness and communication skills.

The programme supports essential skills development through the Claylab curriculum that is provided to all mentors.

In the curriculum, the first step is to complete a baseline test from the Universal Framework which gauges current understanding of students' essential skills. The mentee then practises and improves the targeted essential skills in the next 10 meetings that occur over 3 months, supported by the mentor.

The mentees are required to submit 2 assignments in a module which are related to the essential skills.

The last step involves the endline test which gauges the improved understanding of the essential skills that have been learnt and practiced throughout the 3 month module. This allows Claylab to evaluate the improvement in the mentees.
