The programme provides training to teachers on how to develop the listening, speaking and problem-solving skills with their students within the classroom and the school curriculum.

There are two training modules for teachers on deep learning and developing skills including how to listen, speak and solve problems. The Skills Builder Framework has been introduced as a rubric and reference to develop students’ skills and assess them. As part of the programme the framework is displayed on the walls of the classroom and other hard copies are given to teachers and students. Teachers introduce the framework to students and explain it to them.

Before starting the learning activities that target the skills development, students reflect on their step level of Listening, Speaking and Problem Solving. With the help of the teacher students make a simple step toward developing their skills and moving up to a higher level in the three skills. Teachers also assess the students’ levels.

Teachers design and deliver learning activities that stimulate critical thinking by listening effectively, speaking clearly, asking good questions and solving problems.

At the end of the programme students do the self-assessment again and reflect on their progress from their initial level to the level they are at now.
