The Career Mill is a social impact enterprise enhancing the way the world of work and education in South Africa can bring transformation. The Egoli, You Can You Will Youth Sport Programme is a project that works to transform the minds among youth that live in very adverse circumstances in an informal settlement called Egoli Township.

The Egoli Township came into existence after farmworkers were evicted from farms in 2007 and started living on an open field that was used as a soccer field. The Career Mill believes that by teaching children and youth to understand their value and that if they acquire essential skills it will help improve their chances of employment and give them the knowledge and confidence to create change from within. The Egoli Township has a community of over 6000 people today with many youth that are at risk and the aim is to redirect them from choosing a lifestyle of alcohol and substance abuse and/or gang violence.

Throughout their time on the programme, these young people are supported by volunteer coaches and educators. The programme aims to develop and progress the youth utilising the Coaching Handbook and Skills Builder workbook content to create awareness of the essential skills and opportunities to reflect.
