The provision educates young people about the climate crisis and enables them to take action by building a climate app, all whilst preparing them for future green jobs.
This is a course designed to be delivered in Key Stage 3 curriculum time by computing teachers. Throughout the course, students work in teams to build an innovative climate action technology app. They get to grips with the fundamentals of climate change, building their knowledge and understanding, whilst also thinking about what’s important to them and their communities.
They learn, practise and reflect upon their progress across all eight essential skills, climate change and climate action as well as computing skills.
By the end of the course will have a technical prototype app to help bring their ideas to life. They also have the chance to interact with industry experts, receive feedback on their products and can submit their work for our annual end-of-year Showcase.
