Young Enterprise have teamed up with a company, who have shared a real-life business challenge. Students act as advisors to the company, helping them decide how best to approach the challenge. Students will work through a series of tasks, taken from real-life business practice, to help them devise a solution. They’ll then have the opportunity to pitch their solution to the rest of the class.
The Innovation Studios programme encourages students to complete a baseline survey on 5 essential skills before the workshop and an end point survey at the end to reflect on how they've progressed.
Each task has a focus on 2-3 skill steps which are highlighted in the teacher guidance and student facing worksheet. The delivery guidance encourages teachers to highlight the skills focus of each task. They can also click on each skill step to visit the Skills Builder framework page for that skill and find advice on how to further support their students in developing skills. The skills are framed in the context of strategies businesses use to find solutions, such as a SWOT analysis. Students can choose 1-2 skills they've progressed in to write a STARR response and highlighted the importance of being able to articulate skills in interviews.
