The Young Influencers Programme is designed to improve employment opportunities for underrepresented groups in the Financial Services industry – with a focus on students from diverse ethnic minority and low socio-economic backgrounds.

Each year, 75 year-12 students from three partner schools in the local area of East London undertake the scheme. The programme involves a series of interactive workshops during which the students explore real-life banking case studies and build an understanding of the role banking plays in building a sustainable future. In parallel, the Young Influencers undertake a dedicated schedule of bespoke activities and exercises, helping them acquire practical knowledge and 'real-world' skills all linked to the SkillsBuilder framework. Skills and Steps have been aligned with the bespoke activities to give the students clear opportunities to practice the essential skills. Students are also asked to reflect on their skills via a survey.

Throughout the programme, each workshop session is supported by Societe Generale employee volunteers who contribute their energy and expertise to inspire the students with the aim of having a positive impact on their future and our wider society.
