Youth Development

Learners are exposed to all essential skills in the programme during the pilot. Information on the Universal Framework is included in the facilitator handbook and Module One: Orientation for the learners.

Reflection questions for facilitators, encourage learners to think about the skills trap and why these skills are important. The learners complete the Skills Diamond during orientation and the language of essential skills is frequently used throughout the programme.

Translated and printed essential skills terms are used during the orientation. Learners are assessed through a KAP assessment at the beginning and end of the programme to discuss their knowledge and new practices related to essential skills.
